Mauricio Arango (Colombia) lives and works in New York. He participated in The Independent Study Program at the Whitney Museum (2007), was a resident at the International Academy of Fine Arts in Salzburg (2005), and earned a MFA from the University of Minnesota (2003). Group shows include: The Sao Paolo Museum of Contemporary Art (2008), Artists Space (2007), Stills Gallery (Edinburgh, Scotland), the Sidney Opera House (2006) and the San Jose Museum of Art (2006). He has received grants and commissions from the Bush Foundation for the Arts (USA), Lab For Culture (Holland), Forecast Public Artworks (USA), The Minnesota State Arts Board (USA), Low-Fi The Net Art Locator (UK) and Kulturfonds der Stadt Salzburg (Austria) -among others. His films have screening at different international festivals like the Vienna Independent Short (Austria), Athens International Film Festival (Greece), IndieLisboa (Portugal) and Oaxaca International Film Festival.
